Blaise Salter is a senior catcher and first baseman at Michigan State University. His father and grandfather also played college baseball, with his grandfather, Bill Freehan, eventually being a bonafide all-star in the Major Leagues. His father, John, played at Bowling Green.
Young Salter says his baseball career was influenced by Freehan, although Freehan played at rival University of Michigan and coached baseball there from 1989-1995.
