Toby Gardenhire Following in His Father’s Managerial Footsteps

Toby Gardenhire is currently the manager of Cedar Rapids, the Minnesota Twins’ Class A affiliate.  He has a love affair with the Twins organization, since his father, Ron, was the manager of the major-league Twins for thirteen seasons. Ron is currently in his first season as manager of the Detroit Tigers.

Toby also played in the Twins organization, reaching the Triple-A level, but falling short of a major-league promotion.  Having grown up around the game with his father, Toby always wanted to have a career in coaching and managing like his dad.
