Gordon and Cameron Are Top-Rated Sons of Former Major Leaguers

Nick Gordon and Dazmon Cameron are among a number of top-rated prospects who are projected to be high draft choices in the upcoming 2014 MLb Draft. Gordon is the son of Tom Gordon, a 21-year major league veteran, and the brother of current Los Angeles Dodger infielder Dee Gordon. Cameron is the son of Mike Cameron, a 17-year veteran of the major leagues, who recently finished his career in 2011.

2013 Under Armour All-American Game Has Family Flavor

The Armour All-American Game played at Wrigley Field on August 24 featured four amateur players who have family ties in Major League Baseball.

Pitcher Cobi Johnson is the son of Dane Johnson who pitched in the Majors for three seasons from 1994-1997. Dane is now the Toronto Blue Jays roving pitching instructor.

Outfielder Dazmon Cameron is the son of Mike Cameron, a 17-year veteran from 1995 to 2011. Mike was an All-Star and Gold Glover winner.

Shortstop Nicholas Gordon is the brother of current Major Leaguer Dee Gordon and son of former Major Leaguer Tom Gordon, a 21-year veteran pitcher who was a 3-time All-Star.

Shortstop Luke Dykstra is the son of 3-time All-Star Lenny Dykstra, who was MVP runner-up in 1993. Luke’s brother, Cutter, currently plays in the Nationals organization.
