Cam Gibson was recently drafted following his junior season at Michigan State University by the Detroit Tigers in the fifth round of the 2015 MLB Draft. It was particularly special to him since his father, Kirk Gibson, was a legendary player for the Tigers for twelve seasons.
However, Cam says he has always been a Tiger, and not just because of his father’s exploits with the big league club.

Cam Gibson, son of Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson, just completed a successful college season at Michigan State University, after spurning a selection in the 2012 MLB draft by his father’s team to sign professionally. Cam is said to play like his father–with intensity and reckless abandon. As a youngster he worked out with his father in the big league environment, so he learned the game from some of the best.

Cam Gibson looks like his father, walks like his father, and more importantly plays like his father, who also played at Michigan State. It appears that Cam will have a bright future in baseball.
