Connor Owings is the brother of Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop, Chris Owings, and played for Coastal Carolina during the 2015 season. It was only a couple of years ago that he found out he was born with only one functional kidney and will probably require a transplant at some point.
Recently his mother, Sherri, was approved to be a kidney donor match for Connor, so this news has allowed Connor to continue to focus on baseball.
