Tom Kotchman Excels as a Scout and a Manager

Tom Kotchman is a baseball lifer, but at age 35, he decided he wanted to spend more time with his children.  So he convinced the Angles organization to give him a hybrid role as a scout during the fall through the spring and manager of a short-season rookie minor league team that helped split up the time he spent working during the year.

Now 60 years old, he’s still doing that today in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Tom’s son, Casey, has played professional baseball since 2001, including ten seasons in the big leagues.  He is currently playing at the Triple-A level in the Royals organization.
