Ke’Bryan Hayes was selected as the 32nd overall pick of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, a team his father Charlie played for. A third baseman like his father, Ke’Bryan was a highly touted high school and amateur player. He had previously committed to play baseball at the University of Tennessee.
Charlie Hayes played in the major leagues for fourteen seasons from 1988 to 2001, which included a World Series title with the Yankees in 1996. Earlier that same year, Charlie had played his only season with the Pirates.
