Austin Piscotty completed his freshman season at St. Mary’s College in California, but his stiffest competition to date has likely come from playing with his brothers in his back yard.
Austin’s brother, Stephen, was recently promoted to the St. Louis Cardinals, after being a first-round pick in 2012. Brother Nick was drafted out of high school by the Kansas City Royals in the 32nd round of the 2011 MLB Draft, but chose to play baseball at Duke University instead. He had to quit his baseball career after an arm injury that required surgery and never played professionally.
Having played in the shadows of his brothers, Austin hopes to eventually be drafted by a major league team and get his shot at pro baseball.
