Joey Falcone Pursued Baseball After Military Service

Joey Falcone, son of former major leaguer pitcher Pete Falcone, completed his senior season at Columbia University this year, where his team won its third consecutive Ivy League championship.  Falcone put his baseball career on hold after he finished high school, by enlisting in the Marine Corps with whom he served as a medic for three tours of duty, two in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

Pete Falcone pitched in the big leagues from 1975 o 1984, appearing for the Giants, Cardinals, Mets and Braves.  He finished with a 70-90 win-loss record and 4.07 ERA in  in 325 games.
