Carlos Moncrief is vying for a spot on the Cleveland Indians’ major league roster, having logged a solid season at Double-A Columbus last season. The outfielder is in his eighth professional season, having been drafted in the 14th round by the Indians in the 2008 MLB draft.
Carlos’ father, Homer, had dreams of playing big league baseball, but his career was cut short in 1984 as a pitcher in the Chicago White Sox organization.
Homer admits he didn’t have the work ethic to stick in professional baseball, and now he is advising his son to take advantage of his opportunity with the Indians.
