Minor leaguer Juniel Querecuto is following in the family tradition with his pursuit of a major league position with the Tampa Bay Rays. The native Venezuelan is in his fifth professional season in the Rays organization, starting with his Rookie League debut at age 17.
Juniel grew up around baseball in Venezuela, where his father, Juan Querecuto, played thirteen seasons in the Venezuela winter league and played five seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. Juniel looks to his father for advice as he tries to advance to Double A ball in 2015.
