Marco Gonzales Achieves What His Father Didn’t

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Marco Gonzales made his major league debut in 2014, achieving a dream that eluded his father. Marco’s father is Frank Gonzales, currently a minor league pitching coach in the Colorado Rockies organization. Frank toiled for ten seasons in the minor, after being selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 16th round of the 1989 draft. However, he never reached the big leagues.

Marco used to attend his father’s minor league games. His mother estimates that Marco attended between 700 and 800 games before he entered kindergarten.
