JC and Taylor Snyder are playing for the same summer league team in Yakima, Washington. JC will be a senior at Brigham Young University next year, while Taylor plays for Salt Lake Community College. They are the sons of Cory Snyder, a nine-year veteran of five major leagues teams. Cory was a first-round draft pick of the Cleveland Indians in the 1986 MLB Draft, and is now serves as the hitting coach for the Tacoma Rainiers, the Mariners Triple-A affiliate.
They did not get to see their father play professionally, but have seen plenty of highlight tapes of their father. Cory set an example for his aspiring sons. The father and sons talk every morning, getting caught up on the previous day’s games.
