Tony Gwynn Jr. Is Moving Forward From His Father’s Death

The past few weeks have been very emotional for Tony Gwynn Jr., the son of Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn who died from oral cancer on June 16. Tony Jr. has been re-activated by the Philadelphia Phillies from the bereavement list, but is still struggling with keeping his focus on the game. His loss has taken its toll on him on the field where he is also struggling at the plate. However, he has been gratified by the standing ovations he has received at many ballparks who have paid tribute to his father.
