Former Major Leaguer David Newhan, an eight-year veteran with five teams, shared a special moment with his father, Ross Newhan, in 2004. Ross was a sportswriter for The Los Angeles Times, but had never written a story about his son. Then in 2004, when David was returning from an injury that had sidelined him for more than year, he hit a dramatic home run for the Baltimore Orioles a few days before Father’s Day. Ross responded with a column about his special relationship with his son through baseball.
