Monell Jr. Takes Different Path From His Father To Reach Big Leagues

Johnny Monell Jr., currently an infielder with the Baltimore Orioles in spring training, has taken a different path to reach the Major Leagues from his father, Johnny Monell Sr. Monell Sr. played professional baseball for 17 years, including time in Italy, Tawain and Mexico. However, he never reached the big leagues.

Monell Jr. was drafted in 2007 and made his major league debut with the San Francisco Giants last season. Of course, Monell Sr. is delighted his son achieved his big league dream, and still provides baseball advice to his son.
