Francisco Pena Signs with Royals–Son of Ex-Manager

The Kansas City Royals have nurtured the Pena family over the years, and recently added a third member, Francisco Pena, as a catcher on its 40-man roster.

Francisco’s father, Tony, was the manager for the Royals from 2002-2005, and is now the bench coach for the New York Yankees.

Francisco’s brother, Tony Jr., was a shortstop for the Royals from 2007 to 2009, but did not play in the majors in 2013.
