Galloway Aims to Accomplish What Father and Grandfather Didn’t

Isaac Galloway IV is currently a minor leaguer at Single-A Jupiter in the Miami Marlins organization. In his sixth professional season, multiple injuries during his career have inhibited his progress to the big leagues. His father and grandfather each had brief stints in the minor leagues. Isaac is determined to achieve what they could not–at least get a “cup of coffee” in the big leagues.

In my book, Family Ties: A Comprehensive Collection of Facts and Trivia About Baseball’s Relatives, I have a chapter titled “Not Even a Cup of Coffee.” It cites numerous instances of Major League players whose fathers, sons, or brothers who played professional baseball, but did not reach the Majors for even one game.
