Colin Moran Uses Family Lineage to Reach Baseball Dream

Colin Moran, the sixth overall pick of the Florida Marlins in the 2013 MLB Draft, is on the verge of signing a multi-million dollar contract to start his professional baseball career. He comes from a long line of professional athletes, and it was always his intention to follow them. His grandfather was Dick Surhoff, an NBA player and later a fast-pitch softball legend. Colin has two uncles who played in the Major Leagues, B. J. (a 17-year veteran) and Rich Surhoff. Colin’s brother Brian pitches for the Seattle Mariners’ Triple-A club.
